Paintball is a game whose participants use gas-powered markers to launch marble-sized pellets containing colored goo at each other. Among the most common of the many variations is a version of capture the flag, in which two teams of players attempt to seize each others' banner without being struck by a pellet.

I've been playing paintball since Nov '08. I started playing with a Singaporean team called the Red Sevens competitively in '09 in the MPOC (Malaysian Paintball Official Circuit) in Division 3 for two legs. In '10 we bumped up to Division 2, in which the format was a Millennium-styled X-ball (Race-to-2, 15 bps ramping). We started doing really well getting a bunch of 1sts, 2nds and 4ths (comparatively to '09).

My sole role for the Red Sevens was to play the snake. I think it's the most fun bunker to play and I love to get in there and move ASAP to the opponents end to shoot people out. If anyone is interested, I'll be arriving in BC on the 9th of Sept and would like to have a flavour for the local scene ASAP! Add me on facebook at Ivan Rickard Liow.

Thanks!]]>

Paintball - The Excursion Of A Lifetime
By Riley Hendersen
While the game or sport of is familiar to most people, many have never played the game and don't know what it really is, other than people running around shooting each other with globs of paint. But is so much more than that, and is great fun as well.

The object of playing a game of is to eliminate your opponents in a 'field of battle' by hitting them with a paintball. A is made of a round capsule that's filled with non-toxic and wash-out substances, more scientifically known as polyethylene glycol, or what is officially described in the American Heritage dictionary as, 'any of a family of colorless liquids with high molecular weight that are soluble in water and in many organic solvents and are used in detergents and as emulsifiers and plasticizers.' Let's just call it paint for simplicity's sake, shall we?

A game of is played in a special location with plenty of landscape to provide a pretend battlefield for participants that includes trees, obstacles, bunkers and trenches, among many other landscape features. A game of is generally played between teams, though participants can play individually if they want, and if the facility allows for that. facilities are scattered throughout the United States and around the world, providing hours of fun for those wanting a little more excitement than other more traditional sports.
